Bitcoin may be the most familiar name, but it is only one of many programmable, digital currencies disrupting global finance. These new forms of virtual money, known collectively as crypto currencies, offer the promise of seamless global payments, completely traceable transaction chains and high levels of security. And cryptocurrencies are being used for everything from vending machine purchases to political campaign donations. And that development undoubtedly will transform the whole business of negotiating and writing contracts for goods and services, including real estate leases and facility management activities. In this session, you will get a glimpse into a fast-developing future and will have the opportunity to explore some of the legal, ethical and practical questions raised by the emergence of “smart money.”
